Welcome to the Las Virgenes Creek Protection and Revitalization Plan

This project was undertaken by myself, Bradley Owens, as my masters' project in order to fulfill the final requirement of the Graduate Program in Landscape Architecture at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona; it was completed in June of 2001. The City of Calabasas is the main city in this watershed and has a strong interest in the outcome of the plan. Their contact is Dennis Washburn, city councilmember and former mayor (818.878.4225).

Las Virgenes Creek is a wonderful element of the Santa Monica Mountains landscape, and as such, deserves a great deal of attention. The City of Calabasas has had the foresight to recognize this, and has put resources towards protecting the creek as a long term endeavor.

My life interest is in healthy stream function, and a watershed plan is a crucial structure in which people can take part in protecting the valuable natural resources within a watershed. This project is a key "launching pad" from which I will be able to pursue this ideal in other locals as well.

Sincerely,

Bradley Owens
